Tribunal: Unraveling the NSU Complex

For five days, artists, activists and individuals take over the Schauspiel Köln with a symbolic tribunal of the crimes committed by the so-called National Socialist Underground (NSU) between 2000 and 2007. This spree of ten murders, three bombings, and many wounded has yet to be unraveled, even today, the courts have yet to do justice to the victims. At the tribunal in Cologne, the concerned parties take matters into their own hands and provide a democratizing impulse to finally shed light upon this crime in a dense five days of workshops, theater performances, installations, and audio art. The tribunal is a project of the action group “Unraveling the NSU Complex,” a confederation of initiatives throughout Germany connected to those affected by the NSU-terror attacks. In cooperation with the Schauspiel Köln, Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin, Kammerspiele München, Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung, the Academy of the Arts of the World/Cologne, and HAU Hebbel am Ufer in Berlin; funded by the Senate Chancellery of Berlin – Cultural Affairs, Haus der Kulturen der Welt Berlin, Amadeu Antonio Stiftung, AWO Mittelrhein, and numerous private contributions. With the support of Ballhaus West, FLMH, Residenztheater München and the Forensic Architecture Institute London.
