Reading Group

This season, the Academy introduces a new (self-) educational initiative, a reading group, founded with the goal of deepening and intensifying discussion of the themes broached in the Academy’s program. The reading group meets once a month always on Tuesdays at 7 pm at ACADEMYSPACE, in the hospitable setting of our newly arranged entrance lounge. The first meeting (28.3.) prefaces PLURIVERSALE VI by looking at Tariq Ali’s book The Extreme Centre, one of the inspirations for the symposium of the same name in April. In the second meeting (25.4.) we will ask if leftist populism is possible and explore the potential of critical education and alternative knowledge production. The third meeting (23.5.) will be dedicated to how contemporary artists approach/reflect upon the rise of the right-wing political parties, whereas the fourth one (4.7.) will be about how popular culture expresses anti-fascist political ideas.
