Venus siegt

with DIETMAR DATH

Can technological advances and social revolution really lead to something like posthuman development? This is the key question posed by Dietmar Dath in his novel, Venus siegt, the latest work of science fiction from the versatile and acclaimed author (Die Abschaffung der Arten, 2008). Full of galactic erudition, posthuman speculation, and mathematics-as-prose, it imagines a terraformed Venus that has freed itself from the colonial yoke of Earth to proclaim the equality of humans, robots, and disembodied network intelligences. Yet inner and outer conflicts lead to a violent and highly technologized dictatorship. Is there a way out of the eternal repetition of history in the interplanetary future?

Venus siegt was published by Hablizel in late March 2015.
