In his latest book, author and Academy member Mark Terkessidis focuses on the imperatives of collaboration, cooperation, and self-organization, ubiquitous not only in the entrepreneurial sector, but also in today’s cultural institutions, state agencies, and NGOs. Building upon the much-acclaimed Interkultur, an incisive critique of the institutional pitfalls of Germany’s “integration debate,” Terkessidis looks at how concepts like participation and self-organization promise a renewed democratization in the institutional thicket.
