Manifeste Assi Thierry Tidrow

with THIERRY TIDROW, NIKLAS SEIDL, HEATHER ROCHE, LIZ HIRST

What is the sound of a poetic manifesto in musical form? Largely based on texts by young Innu poet Natasha Kanapé Fontaine, Manifeste Assi from French Canadian, Cologne-based composer Thierry Tidrow is a new work for speaker and three bass instruments (cello, bass clarinet, and bass flute). A musical work, a telling of tales, an unfolding interior drama, this performance weaves together French, English, and Innu-aimun to tell the story of a person and a people ready to fight for what may already be unsalvageable, caught between feelings of indignation, disgust, and forgiveness.

After the premiere of the concert there will be a talk with THIERRY TIDROW, FELIX KLOPOTEK and NATASHA KANAPÉ FONTAINE.

Speaker: Thierry Tidrow, cello: Niklas Seidl, bass clarinet: Heather Roche, bass flute: Liz Hirst.
