It gives us great pleasure to welcome new Members Nanna Heidenreich, Max Jorge Hinderer Cruz, Mi You, and Percy Zvomuya to the Academy of the Arts of the World / Cologne.

NANNA HEIDENREICH is professor for digital narratives - theory since 2016 at ifs / Internationale Filmschule in Cologne. In her work she engages mainly with themes of migration, exodus, and immigration at the intersection of politics, cinema, and art. From 2009 to 2017 she was co-curator of the program Forum Expanded at the Berlinale; from 2015 to 2017 she worked as curator and consultant at Haus der Kulturen der Welt.

MAX JORGE HINDERER CRUZ was a Fellow at the Academy of the Arts of the World from September to November 2016. He works as a cultural critic, editor, and curator in São Paulo and is author of the 2013 book Hélio Oiticica and Neville D'Almeida: Block Experiments in Cosmococa - Programm in Progress. His thematic focus is on the fields of colonial history, capitalism, political economy, and contemporary art.

MI YOU is a curator, artist, and artistic and research associate at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne. In her research projects she deals primarily with the "new Silk Road" as figuration for decentralized, nomadic antinationalistic imagery. Her research focus is on science studies, performance philosophy, and philosophy of immanence in the context of Western and Neo-Confucian traditions.

PERCY ZVOMUYA is an author, journalist, critic and football fan, living in Harare. He is the co-founder of The Con magazine and worked at the Mail & Guardian, South Africa, until 2013. He writes for Al Jazeera International, Jacobin magazine, Sunday Times South Africa, and Moto Zimbabwe, among others.

There is now a section on our website where the former members of the Academy of the Arts of the World are listed. Membership lasts a duration of five years at which time it automatically runs out; it can, however, be extended by request.
