For a long time, war no longer seemed to be part of political debates - it seemed merely a phenomenon from the past or the fate of distant countries on the planet. In the third issue of On Violence, the Italian philosopher and post-operaist Maurizio Lazzarato talks about the permanent continuity of warlike violence and its recent manifestations. War, according to Lazzarato in his book Wars and Capital published with Éric Alliez, is a constitutive element in the relations between the state and capitalism.

The format of the series On Violence is divided threefold: The online lecture by Maurizio Lazzarato will be available here on 21 10 2022. Following this, the lecture will be discussed in a live event on 28 10 2022 in front of an audience at HAU1. The event will take place on site at HAU1, Berlin and will be streamed live here. The completion of On Violence #3 with Maurizio Lazzarato will be the publication of the lecture in book form.
